HOW TO BECOME A LAWYER ?

What are the procedures and mechanisms involved in taking an advocate / Lawyer exam from scratch along with the technical requirements of the apprenticeship process until we get an advocate card? Please explain in detail.
Answer:
Stages to be appointed as an advocate / Lawyer :
1. Following Special Education of Advocate Profession ("PKPA");
2. Following the Advocate/ Lawyer  Profession Exam ("UPA");
3. Attending an internship in the advocate's office at least 2 (two) years continuously in the advocate's office;
4. Appointment and Advocate Oath.
I. PKPA
PKPA is implemented by an advocate organization. Those who can follow PKPA are graduates with backgrounds / graduates (see explanation of Article 2 paragraph [1] Act No. 18 of 2003 on Advocates):
1. Faculty of Law;
2. Faculty of Sharia;
3. College of Military Law; or
4. College of Police Science.
Requirements of candidates for PKPA (see Articles 10 and 11 of Regulation Peradi No. 3 Year 2006 concerning the Implementation of Advocate Profession Education):
a. Submit completed application form;
b. Submit 1 (one) copy of diploma certificate with legal background and legalized;
c. Submit 3 (three) 4x6 color photographs;
d. Pay the fees that have been set to follow PKPA, as evidenced by a photocopy of payment receipt;
e. Obey the discipline of learning;
f. Meet the attendance requirement of at least 80% (eighty percent) of all PKPA sessions.


PKPA Certificate
If the participant has followed PKPA in accordance with the above provisions, then the relevant will be given a certificate by PKPA organizer (see Article 11 of Regulation of Peradi No. 3 Year 2006 on Implementation of Advocate Profession Education).
 
II. UPA
After following PKPA, advocate/ Lawyer  candidates must follow UPA conducted by advocate organization. In UPA implemented by Indonesian Advocates Association ("Peradi") determined that UPA can follow those who have attended PKPA held by universities or other institutions that have approval from PERADI.
 
General requirements follow UPA:
1. Indonesian citizen;
2. Fill out the Registration Form, by attaching:
a. Photocopy of ID card;
b. Photocopy of Bank Setor evidence of advocate exam fees;
c. Color photographs 3 X 4 = 4 sheets;
d. Photocopy of Diploma (S1) background of higher education law that has been legalized by the college issuing it;
e. Photocopy of education certificate

Parti receive a UPA pass certificate from an advocate organization.
